Ghosts, Goblins and fun at the “Dream Halloween Los Angeles”

Standard

Inviting children and families for an evening of scary fun and serious fundraising, the 18th annual Dream Halloween® Los Angeles, will take place at Santa Monica’s Barker Hanger on Oct. 29, from 5:00-8:30 p.m.  Children Affected by AIDS Foundation (CAAF) has joined forces with Keep a Child Alive (KCA) for this family event to create a larger, more magical event to support even more children and families affected by AIDS globally.

The most anticipated family Halloween event of the year, Dream Halloween® is a trick-or-treater’s delight featuring beloved celebrities, live musical performances, ghosts & goblins, games, arts & crafts, food from local restaurants, and appearances by children’s favorite characters.  Families – celebrities, too! – are encouraged to come in costume.  The evening raises much-needed funds for children infected with HIV or affected by AIDS.

“With Dream Halloween® at the core of our annual fundraising efforts since 1994, Children Affected by AIDS Foundation has raised close to $40 million, to help make a difference in the lives of children impacted by HIV/AIDS in the U.S. and other countries.  We’re very grateful for all the support over the years and thrilled to now be working together with Keep a Child Alive to take Dream Halloween® to the next level,” says CAAF Founder Joe Cristina.

“While great strides have been made in research and treatment, there are currently 33 million people infected globally with HIV, and 16 million children have been orphaned as a result,” says Leigh Blake, president of Keep a Child Alive.  “We know that we must continue to work together on this crisis, and we are pleased to join with Children Affected by AIDS Foundation and Dream Halloween®.”

Tickets for Dream Halloween® Los Angeles are $300.00 for adults and $250.00 for children 13 years and under.  You may purchase tickets online at www.dreamhalloween.org or call 310.201.5033 to contact Lauran Huff — Lauran@LPAevents.com

About Keep a Child Alive

Keep a Child Alive provides first class AIDS care, support, nutrition and love to children and families affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India. There are currently 15 million AIDS orphans in Africa alone and 30 million people have died from HIV/AIDS worldwide. Anti-retroviral (ARV) treatment has transformed the lives of people with AIDS in the West, returning them to health from illness. However, millions of people with AIDS have no access to these lifesaving drugs. KCA funds more than just the pills necessary to fight HIV/AIDS by providing the necessary nutrition, shelter and support to ensure the treatment is taken properly and is effective. KCA currently provides funding to 11 clinical and orphan care sites in 5 countries: Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda and India; with previous projects in Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Zimbabwe and South Africa that have been successfully scaled to new levels of service and self-sustainability within their communities.
